My embarrassing exit just in the money of the $3 rebuy above. Not sure what I should do with that flop having already put 20% of my stack in pre, figured a cr would be the only way to get any fold equity, don't know if I should just give up on the pot completely... betting the flop might give me a price to call... Looking back, I much prefer trying to get it in pre with some kind of fold equity from hands like 88/99. A limp pre seems a bit odd but I think a limp/shove pre might be the play as an open fold surely isn't an option and making it 4/5k to go leaves an awkward amount back. Limping pre may also invite AT/AJ to go mad. Or do I have to raise here? Opinions on every street welcome.
Either way, another annoying $3r to go with these recent ones (might as well get the negativity out in one post):

AA runs bad for me at the moment as this was another beauty from today approaching the bubble of the $30k gteed with average stack:

Okay, bad beats are boring in a blog so I promise there'll be no more for a while. Working later so I'd better sleep, just thought I'd post the hand while it was fresh. Feel free to rip me to shreds.

tough one that AQ 2nd position with 15bbs, really is an awful spot:
ReplyDeleteYou open shove and ur getting called by a pair or AK (perhaps AQ) = -ve
You limp and get several other limpers behind, you hit or u are done with it (but pretty pussy move all in all) = 0ve
You could theoretically fold this hand and look for a better spot to utilise your stack size, e.g. a resteal or a stop and go etc... = gayve
You could min raise - at these stakes its pretty useful (effectively what u raised), and then fire again on any flop a similar size bet and then give up if called. Leaves u on 10bbs or so though if u fail... = ?ve
I think ur check shove is fine if u have the goods, as i think its very likely to get called if they have bet this amount / he has nothing and folds and wouldnt pay out any more anyway.
- but the min bet from villain should set alarm bells ringing when u got A-high, he is praying u bite...
Of the options above i have no idea which i'd go for, probably depend on how i was feeling - if a little tilty i may open shove, if a little frisky maybe open limp, if on auto pilot the min raise and min bet... I think maybe i would even 2.5x and then go dead if i got a caller and missed the flop, just to preserve the 13bbs or so i had left which u still have some manouverability with...
I would perhaps favour 2.5x pre followed by an amount that looks bigger than it is like 1999 or something...if this is looked up, just slow it right down!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the check shove over a larger raise on the flop, but the min raise does scream of an aidsy set and maybe just a horrible fold is the order of the day.
147_fucku ;-)
lol, love that name. 3456 to go pre gets through imo. Yeah, the plan was to check shove so I already had the mouse over the raise button and by the time he min bet the fuck out of it, I couldn't go back. My shove looks so ridiculously big after his min bet. Made me look like a right wally. okay, bet 1999... then fold to his minraise?
